Bio

Alexander King

Alexander King is a tenor, imposing in height (190cm tall) with a voice to match. His voice has been likened by some to the late, great Jussi Bjorling .

He has also had a parallel career as a music producer, working with the ABC and freelance with artists of the calibre of Howard Shelley, James Morrison, Andras Schiff, and ABC orchestras.

Alexander has released two recordings to date and has sung at many charity fundraisers including most recently for the Beat Diabetes Foundation at Crown Palladium with David Helfgott and for the Governor General’s pleasure at the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron. He has also sung in Verona and New York.

“Alexander King is the real deal. His voice is from the heart and his sound superb.” Sean O’Boyle, Conductor, Composer, Arranger, ABC Recording Artist.

“As a singer, he has that special something; that special cherry on top; that extra little bit that separates him from all the rest. When you mistake his voice with other celebrated tenors, you know this guy’s going all the way!” Ron Furner, Director & Filmmaker.

“There aren’t many singers with great voices, but there are some. There aren’t many who have real musical feeling, but there are some. Very few have both qualities. Alexander King is that rare talent that has both.” Jaroslav Kovaricek, Producer, Broadcaster, Composer, ABC Classic FM.
